MedAid – Terms of Use (United States)

Welcome to MedAid. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the MedAid mobile application (“MedAid,” “the app,” “we,” “us”).

By using MedAid in the United States, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.


1. Not Medical Advice

MedAid is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

MedAid is intended solely as a personal medication organization and reminder tool.

You must consult your physician, pharmacist, or qualified healthcare provider for:

  • medical decisions
  • diagnosis or treatment
  • questions about medication safety, interactions, or dosage

Never delay seeking professional care because of something you viewed in the app.


2. External Information Sources

MedAid displays medication information from U.S. government and public health sources, including:

This content is provided “as is.” MedAid does not create, review, or modify information from these external sources.

OpenFDA Notice: Per openFDA’s terms of service: “Do not rely on openFDA to make decisions regarding medical care. While we make every effort to ensure that data is accurate, you should assume all results are unvalidated.”

Information from these sources may be incomplete, outdated, or specific to U.S. labeling, and may not be appropriate for individual medical decisions. MedAid does not control, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of information provided by these external sources. Always rely on your healthcare provider for personalized instructions.


3. Emergency and Safety Information

Some external medication information pages may reference U.S.-specific emergency procedures, including:

  • Calling 911
  • Poison control guidance
  • Other federal or state safety instructions

MedAid does not verify or update these instructions.

In a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.


4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • entering medication names correctly
  • setting schedules and reminders correctly
  • following instructions from your healthcare provider
  • confirming all medication details with a professional

MedAid is not responsible for:

  • missed doses
  • incorrect schedules
  • misunderstandings of medical information
  • reliance on external content
  • any health outcomes related to the use of the app

5. On-Device Data Storage

All personal data (medication lists, schedules, logs) is stored locally on your device.

MedAid does not collect or store this data on servers.

You are responsible for securing your device and keeping your operating system up to date.


6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by U.S. law, MedAid and its developers are not liable for:

  • damages arising from the use or inability to use the app
  • inaccurate or incomplete external data
  • medical outcomes
  • missed or delayed reminders
  • device failures, OS behavior, notification handling, or system limitations

MedAid is provided “as is” and “as available.”


7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.


8. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with
the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada
applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms of Use or the use of
MedAid shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts
located in Alberta, Canada.
